This is Goodwill.
I ran Goodwill-Easter Seals Minnesota’s first ever influencer campaign: #thisisgoodwill. I coordinated about 20 local Instagram personalities and asked them to show off their favorite thrifted finds and talk about the benefits of shopping Goodwill.
Meltwater’s influencer database calculated an over 3,000% ROI on this which…doesn’t sound real. But I will agree it was a success. Our influencers raised Goodwill’s mission messaging, plus delivered us beautifully styled photos of thrifted goodies that we couldn’t have recreated with organizational resources.
Some Campaign Highlights
Between running a business, hitting the gym, socializing and being in school again, I know I need to constantly stay on point and stay under budget. Luckily this whole outfit cost me less than $50!
By shopping at @goodwillmn, I’m doing more than filling my wardrobe with unique finds like these. I’m also taking part in something so magical! I am supporting a nonprofit here in Minneapolis and supporting one-on-one employment services that help people in Minnesota prepare for and land their dream jobs.
Just for fun, I took a little survey around my house to see how much of what we own is new and how much is thrifted. Surprisingly, about 1/2 of our stuff is from thrift stores! And some of my all-time favorite pieces like Sylvie’s doll buggy, that brass candlestick set, and ceramic hand sculpture are all from @goodwillmn .
Obviously the hunt for the affordably unique and charming is what keeps me thrifting. But there’s also a larger ripple effect that happens when we choose to thrift over buy new. Every year, @goodwillmn diverts over 60 million pounds of goods from MN landfills, and they provide one-on-one employment services to help people prepare for and land their dream jobs. 👊🏻 Is it weird that I get a little teary over all this?
Summer camping in the Lil Hotdish comes with some “glamperous” perks. I’ve been really excited about turning this place into a “home on the road” by decking out our new awning area. Roll out the outdoor rug, put out some cozy pillows, fill my canteen with a little something something...hint hint wine...then soak in all of the good feels of nature. It’s these little things that make my outdoor experience extra special. And thrifting with @goodwillmn means helping the environment I dearly love by diverting more than 60 million pounds of goods from MN landfills every year.

Slowly but surely, this baby’s room is coming together! I found that gem of a dresser at @goodwillmn and used it for both boys because it’s perfect for tiny clothes and doubles as a changing table! I always feel good about shopping at @goodwillmn because my purchases help fund education, job training and placement programs locally. Plus, Goodwill diverts more than 60 million pounds of items from landfills every year. That’s a win for my wallet, for my community and for the planet! 🌎
